Dimapur, October 9 (MExN): As per directives of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI the Department of Health & Family Welfare will be conducting a measles catch-up campaign in the state from October 10 to 31, 2011 covering all children in the age group of nine months to ten years irrespective of their previous measles immunization status. A press note issued by Dr. Yangerlemla, Director of health & services & HoD, Nagaland stated that the campaign will span over three weeks with schools being covered in the first week and outreach sessions in the next two weeks.
The Department of Health & Family Welfare appeals to all partner departments of School Education, School welfare, Women & child Development, Municipals, District Administration, Churches, the Media and NGOs to extend their active support in the campaign to achieve 100m per cent coverage of the targeted beneficiaries.
