Mechievilie Yashü is Nagaland’s first CAT 4 referee 

Kohima, November 15 (MExN): Nagaland football referee from Kohima Mechievilie Yashü has successfully qualified for the Referee Identification Number (RIN) Category 4 (CAT 4) examination.

This makes him the first Nagaland football referee to qualify under category 4 under the AIl India Football Federation.

The referee examination was held at Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh from October 27 to 30 under the supervision of AIFF. 

While congratulating Yashu for qualifying the Cat 4 course, Kohima Town Club (KTC) in a press release said that being the first Nagaland Football Referee to reach this milestone is a pride for the state and the football community. 

The club wished him success in his future endeavours and encouraged him to continue inspiring the youngsters of the state. The club also lauded Joychandra Singh, AIFF Football Referee Instructor, for his relentless efforts in moulding young referees from the state to reach these heights. 

CAT 4 Referees are responsible for officiating state-level competitions organized by the State associations. CAT 4 courses come under the direct supervision of State associations. The AIFF conducts referee development courses based on a 5 tier system. Category is the entry level and Category 1 is the top tier.
