Chennai, October 15 (MExN): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday appreciated healthcare innovations developed by MEDxAI Innovations Pvt. Ltd., a healthcare deep-tech startup incubated at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai, during the inauguration of the Porur Metro Rail project here.

The PM interacted with Dr Sheena C Pravin, CEO of MEDxAI Innovations and faculty at VIT Chennai, in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru C. Joseph Vijay, according to a press release.

During the interaction, Dr Sheena presented the company's pioneering Artificial Intelligence (AI) and quantum computational intelligence solutions designed to advance medical diagnostics and next-generation drug discovery.

The opportunity followed MEDxAI Innovations' selection for the iAccelerate Programme facilitated by iTNT Hub (Tamil Nadu Technology Hub) in June 2026. As part of the selection process, iTNT Hub shortlisted the company and forwarded its product profile to the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), New Delhi, and the Prime Minister's Office. Following an online screening meeting held this month, the company was selected for the interaction with the Prime Minister.

MEDxAI Innovations is a healthcare deep-tech company developing indigenous AI and quantum computational intelligence solutions to address critical challenges in healthcare and pharmaceutical research. It was founded by Dr Sheena C Pravin, CEO, and Dr Reena Monica P, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), both faculty of the School of Electronics Engineering at VIT Chennai.

Dr Sheena showcased the company's two flagship technology platforms: Cervilens, an AI-powered cervical cancer pre-screening tool designed to improve screening accessibility and strengthen early-detection efforts; and Quantum PharmX, an AI-powered in-silico drug discovery platform that integrates AI-driven capabilities to support pharmaceutical research, including molecular analysis and genomic profiling.
