Tuensang, June 8 (MExN): A district level co-ordination committee meeting on National Tobacco Control Programme was held at DC conference hall, Tuensang on June 5. It was chaired by Toking Yimchunger, EAC Tuensang, stated a DIRP report. Highlight of DTCC activities was presented by District Consultant DTCC Tuensang, Sentilong Longchar. He said training and seminar were conducted at villages, schools and college to educate them about the effects of tobacco consumption. To promote tobacco free educational institute and village, he reported that Kuthur was the “first free tobacco village” under Tuensang district. A bike rally IEC campaign was also held to spread the awareness of tobacco consumption. The meeting discussed to strengthen COTPA ACT 2003 Sec 4, 5, 6 and 7 and Tobacco Free Educational Institutions. Certificate to Tobacco Free Schools were presented to GHS Kuthur, GHS Chingmelen, St Joseph's School, GHS Hakushang, Loyem Memorial School.
