Nagaland Football Coaches Association (NFCA) president Roko Angami today formally kicked start the five day long silver jubilee sports meet of Mengujuma Youth Organization (MYO) at Mengujuma Local Ground under Kohima district.
Gracing the inaugural function occasion as the chief guest, Roko, a former international football player, complimented the MYO for attaining 25th glorious years and further urged the organization to climb the higher ladder as they continue to render valuable service to the community.
Informing that the NFCA has been formed to strengthen the standard of football in the state and also to groom youngsters at the grassroot level across the state, he said the Association will be conducting D-Licence Refreshers Course by January-February next year.
He said that AIFF D-Licence Course forms an introductory step to professional football coaching in India. The course deals with teaching the basic principles of football coaching.
He also invited coaches from Mengujuma village to join this course and promote football together.
Roko called upon the youth to grab the various opportunities and stay focus in whatever field they are good at.
Stating that expression is the crucial factor to lead someone in the right path and also land someone in trouble, he called urged upon the youth to be careful while making any sort of utterance and be positive in their approach in the larger interest of the public.
Lamenting that the moral value of respect to elders and parents is diminishing in the present generation, he called upon the youth to recognize the sacrifice and hard labour of their parents towards meeting their daily requirements, entrepreneurship and education.
He was of the view that the youth ought to repay their parents by maintaining positive attitude and excel in their respective fields.
The inaugural function was chaired by Mengujuma village council secretary Neinguse Mor while MYO president Kelevizo Rürhie delivered presidential address.
Greeting was shared by jubilee committee convenor Vitsalhou Kesiezie while MYO games & sports secretary Peteneizo Sechü administered oath to the participating teams.
The five day long meet will be marked by football, volleyball, Naga wrestling and track and field events.
The meet will conclude on December 31 with Thepfüsatuo Sechü, chairman Mengujuma Village Council as guest of honour.
