Mokokchung, October 8 (MExN): The Theatre and Music Club of Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) in collaboration with the District Mental Health Program, Mokokchung organised an awareness programme on mental health with the theme ‘mental health is a universal human right’ at MCTE on October 6.
The programme started with Moalemla, Librarian, MCTE highlighting the objectives and significance of the programme in creating awareness about mental health, stated a press release.
Dr Narola, DPO (NCD), Achila, Clinical Psychologist and Monica, Psychiatric Social Worker were the resource persons. They highlighted on the importance of mental health which is the basis of our well-being, and the need to be sensitized about mental health disorders as a health issue.
“Anyone facing mental health issue should not be stigmatised but should be given help and support to address their illness on time before it becomes a grave concern,” the resource persons stated. They also threw light on the strategies of managing stress in our daily lives, which, if not managed could lead to mental health problems. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Kerilhusa Peseyie, Assistant professor, MCTE.
