Mental health awareness programmes conducted
Students along with resource persons during mental health awareness programme in Longleng.
Longleng, March 8 (MExN): District Mental Health Program, Longleng in collaboration with the department of psychology, St Joseph University, Dimapur conducted mental health awareness and substance abuse programs in different institutions and organisations from March 4 to 6.
An update from the organisers informed that the main objective of the programme was to spread awareness on the importance of mental health and its benefits. It also aimed at creating awareness on how substance abuse affects mental health and wellbeing.
The awareness programme was conducted at various places including Observation Home, Longleng; Police church; Yangli College; Government higher secondary school, Longleng.
The three daylong programme was supervised by the Clinical psychologist Abemo Lotha and Psychiatric social worker Neingu Kulnu.
The students of St Joseph University were supervised by Assistant Professor Sopfunuo Vizo. The programme concluded with a discussion with the superintendent and medical officer, Longleng.
