NSCN/GPRN Khaplang expels “dy. Kilonser”

Dimapur, December 30 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN Khaplang today said it has expelled one of its “dy. Kilonser” for “anti-party activities.” Horiba Sangtam has been expelled from both the “active and primary memberships of NSCN/GPRN due to anti-party activities,” a note from the NSCN/GPRN’s MIP stated today. “Horiba’s appeal for clemency has been rejected,” the note said, adding that the “order” takes effect from December 29.

AYO condemns Kohima firing

Dimapur, December 30 (MExN): The Angami Youth Organisation today strongly condemned the firing incident in Kohima on the 29 December 2011, in which three innocent civilians, including a minor, were injured. In a statement issued by its Press and Information Secretary, Aja Zinyü, the AYO appealed to “all groups to heed to the voice of the public and refrain from further bloodshed.” It further reaffirmed “the stand of the Angami Public Organisation on the issue and will not tolerate any incident in which the innocent public is regarded as collateral damage.”

78 Bn CRPF contributes to improve supply of water

Kohima, December 30 (MExN): As part of Civic Action Programme 78 Bn CRPF constructed a water tank, laid water pipes and constructed a small dam on the natural spring near Sechuma village.  In a function held on December 30, N. Ranbir Singh, Deputy Commandant 78 Bn CRPF, Zubza formally inaugurated the project. The function was attended by Niko Sechu, Village Chairman, Nipho Phose, Village Secretary and various other prominent village elders and other officials of CRPF. The project was constructed with the intention to improve the supply of water to the villagers of Sechu Zubza. With the commissioning of the project, availability of water to the villagers will be enhanced substantially. This project will also lessen the problems of water scarcity especially during the forthcoming lean winter season. The villagers expressed deep gratitude to the Commandant 78 Bn CRPF for the project. It may be mentioned that this project is part of the series of Civic Action Programme organized by 78 Bn CRPF with the objective of building closer ties with the local people.
