Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan inaugurating the new building of Longtsung Health and Wellness Centre under Sanis block in Wokha on April 16.
Wokha, April 17 (MExN): The new building of the Longtsung Health and Wellness Centre under Sanis block in Wokha district was inaugurated by Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor for Agriculture, Government of Nagaland, on April 16.
The dedication prayer was pronounced by Longshi Mozhui, pastor of Longtsung Baptist Church.
Speaking at the inauguration, Yanthan expressed hope that the new building, constructed under the Local Area Development Programme, would deliver much-needed healthcare services to the people of Longtsung. He said that after observing the poor condition of the earlier health centre building and the dedication of the Community Health Officer, he decided to construct a new facility.
The advisor also appealed to the community to take proper care of the health centre and contribute towards its development. He further urged the medical department to provide adequate medical equipment to ensure smooth functioning of the facility.
Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, Thungchangbemo Ezung thanked the advisor for his contribution towards the construction of the health facility and expressed hope that similar support would be extended for development of other health centres in the district.
Longtsung Village Council Chairman, Mathew Mozhui, also expressed gratitude to the advisor for the new building and hoped that the health facility would be upgraded further in the near future.
The inauguration programme was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sanis, civil society leaders and officials from various line departments.
The construction of the health centre building was undertaken by Ngaza Buildcon Private Limited.
