Phek, January 24 (MExN): The Mini Hornbill Sükrünye-cum-Inter-ward Tournament organised by the Phek Town Youth Society concluded on January 21 at Phek Local Ground.
The final event of the day was football competition and Zion Ward emerged as the champions.
According to a DIPR report, the winners of different inter-ward tournament were as follows:
• Log cutting, 1st - Zion Ward, 2nd - Hebron-II, 3rd – Mission Compound;
• Traditional Fire Making, 1st - Hebron-1, 2nd Position - Bethany II;
• Bamboo Stilt Race, 1st - Mission Compound, 2nd - Bible Hill, 3rd - New Ward;
• Folk Song, 1st - Bethany II, 2nd - Zion & 3rd - Hebron 1;
• Greased Bamboo Pole Race, 1st - Bethany II, 2nd - New Ward & 3rd - Jericho II;
• Bamboo Pole Race, 1st - Jericho II, 2nd - Zion, 2nd -Jericho 1, 3rd Bible Hill;
• Tug Of War (Women), 1st - Hebron 1 , 2nd - Jericho II, 3rd - Bethany II,
• Tug Of War (Men-), 1st - Bible Hill, 2nd - New Colony Ward, 3rd - Bethel.
Speaking at the valedictory programme, DRDA Project Director, Razukhru Vasa appreciated the society for taking part in various fields like cleanliness drive etc and congratulated winners of various events and encouraged them to exhibit even in the higher levels, a DIPR report informed.
