Mini Legal Services Camp held in Meluri to boost legal awareness

Meluri, April 12 (MExN): A Mini Legal Services Camp was organised at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Meluri Town, on April 11 under the aegis of the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) in collaboration with the Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) and the district administration, Meluri.

MLA and Advisor for New and Renewable Energy and NSDMA, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, graced the occasion as the special guest.

In his address, Nyuthe appreciated the efforts of the NSLSA and the Phek district authorities for extending legal services to the people of Meluri district and the Pochury community. He urged citizens to make the best use of the services provided and encouraged them to remain law-abiding.

Member Secretary, NSLSA, Neiko Akami (NJS), in his keynote address elaborated on the objectives of legal services camps, including provision of free legal aid, implementation of welfare schemes, dispute resolution and spreading awareness about citizens’ rights and entitlements.

He stressed the need for greater awareness to ensure that justice remains accessible to all sections of society and encouraged citizens to actively utilise the services available under the Legal Services Authorities framework.

Earlier, the programme began with an invocation by Kuthotso Tunyu, Pastor, TBCMT, followed by a welcome address by Duvelu Vero (NJS), District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, Phek DLSA.

The programme was chaired by Thukutalu Chizo, Panel Lawyer, PDLSA, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Holika Sukhau (NJS), Judicial Magistrate First Class-cum-Secretary, PDLSA.

The event culminated with the formal inauguration of the Mini Legal Services Camp by the special guest, marking a step forward in promoting legal awareness and outreach in the district.
