One person had a miraculous escape on Sunday evening after the scooter he was riding was rammed and dragged by a speeding vehicle. The incident occurred at Tajen Ao Road, Duncan Basti around 6:00 pm.
According to witnesses at the scene, the scooter was rammed from behind by a Maruti Gypsy. The impact jettisoned the rider off the scooter to the side of the road. The scooter was trapped on the underside of the Gypsy and dragged a few hundred feet on the road.
The unnamed scooter rider miraculously survived but with injury, a witness said. He was reportedly taken to hospital before the police arrived. The identity of the person at the wheel of the Gypsy could not be ascertained.
