DIMAPUR, JULY 9 (MExN): The Miraculum Society, founded by former Miss Nagaland Vikuonuo Sachu, today inaugurated its 'Creative Friendship Centre for Children Noklak' at High School Sector 'B', Noklak Town. 

The Centre was inaugurated by Col. Christopher and his wife Mryna Rego, who journeyed all the way from Bangalore to Noklak. The couple is the founder of Sunbird Trust which funded the construction of the Centre and works for the welfare of children in several states across North East India and beyond. Hempao, Executive Secretary, KBCA pronounced the dedicatory prayer followed by a short programme at GA Rest House. The Centre is equipped with a library and office and will focus on holistic development of youths.

Vikuonuo Sachu thanked her team and Sunbird Trust for the unflinching faith shown and stated that the Centre is constructed in honour of her grandparents Lt. Mrs & Mr T Sachu who played a pivotal role in her life. She also expressed appreciation to the District Administration Noklak for all the assistance rendered to the Society. She further shared her gratitude to the landowners and the community as a whole for supporting the construction of the Centre.

Narrating that the journey has not been an easy one, she said it was positive reinforcement from various quarters that kept her team moving forward. It was during her first visit to Noklak in 2021 when the district and its people won her over completely and the place has always held a special place in her heart ever since. Expressing delight on having achieved this milestone, she thanked her family for never stopping her from realising her dreams.

Col Christopher, CEO of Sunbird Trust encouraged the citizens to contribute their services even in davs to come and stated that community participation is what would take the vision forward. He stated that when Sunbird Trust was approached for the construction of the Centre they were convinced of the Miraculum Society's commitment. Along the way, friends and wellwishers came forward with donations which helped fund the construction of the Centre.

Narrating his experiences as a former army officer in the North Eastern states, he mentioned how his love for the people motivated him to begin Sunbird Trust along with his beloved wife. Over the years, the Trust has constructed 13 schools in different parts of the region and has provided various interventions to children in remote corners of the country.

Kathyinla, EAC who spoke on behalf of the District Administration stated that Vikuonuo's goodness and purity at heart has made the Khiamniungan community embrace her as one of its own daughters.

She thanked the Miraculum Society for the noble initiative and Sunbird Trust for breathing life into the project. On behalf of the people of Noklak and the District Administration, she expressed hope that the Centre will serve as a safe haven for children and expressed the wish that the beautiful friendship forged between the Khiamniungan community and the two organisations will continue for generations to come.

Prakash, CEO of Eduversity, narrated to the gathering on the outcome of the 21 days' free coaching programme. The institute had provided classes to students of classes 9 and 10 during their summer break. Stating that the students have now developed new aspirations, he encouraged parents to pay attention to their children's academics and not to dismiss their failures as problems that can never be solved.
