Mokokchung, March 25 (MExN): In view of the upcoming bye-election to the 28 A/C Koridang (ST) constituency, the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (DC & DEO) of Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, has issued a directive restricting the movement of government personnel.
The order, which came into effect immediately, mandates that all Heads of Departments (HoDs) and government officials and staff assigned to election duties within Mokokchung district remain stationed at their respective places of posting to ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of election-related activities.
According to a notification dated March 24, 2026, any officer or staff member required to leave the station under unavoidable circumstances must obtain prior written permission from the DC and DEO.
“Any deviation from the directive will be viewed seriously, and strict action will be initiated against defaulters as per relevant rules,” the order stated.
The administration emphasised that the directive has been issued to maintain discipline and preparedness among officials engaged in election duties.
The order will remain in force until further notice.
