Mokokchung, November 28 (DIPR): The Forum for Special People, Mokokchung under the aegis of the Care & Support Society, Mokokchung, is organizing the ‘Differently Abled Peoples’ Meet, Mokokchung’ on December 2 and 3, in Commemoration of the World Disabled Day (December 3) at the Multi-Sports Hall, Imkongmeren Sports Complex from 9 A.M. onwards. People with Disabilities, parents & relatives of PWD and well-wishers are all welcome to participate in the Event.
Highlights of the Day I (December 2) of the Meet includes competitive games for the disabled like, Arm Wrestling, Throw Ball, Standing Jump, Badminton, Race, Carom, Ring Throw, Bursting Balloons and Hanging Biscuits, followed by Drawing & Painting, Flower making and Music & Singing Competition.
On Day II (December 3) a short formal programme will be held from 9 a.m. commemorating the World Disabled Day, where Dr. Bendang Jamir CMO, Mokokchung has kindly consented to be the Guest of Honour. This will be followed by a Health Mela where People with Disabilities will be given free medical check-up by Medical Doctors and occupational, orthopedic and prosthetic therapists from Mokokchung and Dimapur. Assessment/measurement of people with paralysis of lower limbs, children with cerebral palsy/spastic children for wheel-chair and of people in need of hearing aid, blind stick, and artificial limb will also be conducted. Those who have and can produce BPL certificate will be given subsidized aids.
