Mokokchung, November 29 (MExN): The Mokokchung Photography Club was formally launched today by SDO (C) Mokokchung, Nungsangmenla Imchen at the Mokokchung Press Club building in the presence of some photograph enthusiasts.
The Mokokchung Photography Club with the motto ‘Painting with Light’ has been formed by a group of young photographers with the objective of promoting the science and art of photography, and also to popularize photography as a hobby and profession in the society.
The membership in the club is open to anyone who is interested in photography and membership registration is Rs 1000 for fresh members; annual renewal of membership will be Rs 500.
The SDO (C) Nungsangmenla Imchen, while congratulating the MPC for the formation of the club, exhorted the members to be dedicated in their endeavours. Saying that photography can be a great profession through which one can earn a lot of money, Nungsangmenla also expressed her hopes that the members would become successful photographers in the society.
Meanwhile, the a member of the Mokokchung District Arts and Council Committee (MDACC) who is also a member of the MPC, Aren Changkija proposed the Club to collaborate with the MDACC in setting up a photography stall during the mega event M-Fest scheduled to be held from December 13-15 at Mokokchung. The MPC accepted the proposal and decided to send one member as a representative for coordination as proposed by the MDACC. Meanwhile, two profession photographers from Goa who happened to in town also joined in the programme, and also shared their experiences after the formal programme.
The Club will be organizing photography workshops and also organize photo exhibitions from time to time.
