Mkg to represent Nagaland in 8th National Masters Games 2026

Dimapur, January 26 (MExN): A team of 16 veteran football players from the 35+ Mokokchung Football League has left for Pune to represent Nagaland at the 8th National Masters Games scheduled from 27 to 31 January 2026. The event is organised by the Super Masters Games & Sports Federation of India.

Nagaland will field three men’s football teams this year: the 40+ team from Dimapur, the 40+ Mokokchung teams as Team A and B, and the 50+ team from Kohima. The 40+ Mokokchung team is led by Team Manager Tatongrenla and Coach Mohan Ram Bhadu.

The Mokokchung team, consisting of 16 players, underwent several practice sessions and played exhibition matches against Morning Premier League, Kohima, and other players from the 35+ Mokokchung Football League. The team squad includes N Jamonger Ao, N Chuba Phom, La Nuchuba Walling, Sentiyanger, Tsüpongtsüba, Tiayanger, Chumaksangba, Tiatoshi Imchen, Zululemba Ao, Repamangyang, Mliyapang Jamir, L Moakaba, Talilepba Jamir, Onen Toshi, Chubangangnen Imchen, and Sakutemjen Ao.

The team’s jersey was unveiled on January 24 by Vesupra Kezo, NPS Senior Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung.

Besides football, the 8th National Masters Games will feature competitions in hockey, yoga, athletics, kabaddi, powerlifting, swimming, weightlifting, arm wrestling, volleyball, and badminton.
