Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): The 13th general session of Western Sumi Kukami Hoho was held on June 29 last at Suhoi village. Azheto Zhimomi, MLA & Advisor, Sericulture and Co-operation graced the occasion as chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest called on the GBs (village chiefs) to retrospect themselves and think whether they have been a good ruler of their village and people and also how they are focusing themselves for the days to come.
He asked whether they have been able to improve the education system in the village, which is the most important for shaping and securing the future of our children. Azheto was of the view that a good village chief is somebody who is not just a good administrator but also who leads the people in the path of
righteous ways of life.
Stating that since the government has communitized the departments and thereby giving full privilege to the village for its development, he urged the GBs to see that fund given to the village is properly utilized for village development.
MLA Y. Hewoto Awomi who also attended the session also exhorted the gathering. He reminded the GBs that unity and cohesiveness of the people depend on the village chief. Hewoto who is also a village chief said GBs have great responsibility in guiding the people but for which one has to correct oneself before correcting the
people under him.
Morning session was chaired by WSKH president, Apeto Assumi while the technical session was chaired by Kakiho Achumi, vice president, WSKH. Rev. Vithoshe Swu, executive secretary, WSBAK said the
invocation prayer.
