DoSE Nagaland to conduct Special Admission Drive
Kohima, July 3 (MExN): The Department of School Education (DoSE), Nagaland has stated that there is a moderate increase in dropout rate of students during the year 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In order to address the issue, the department has extended the timeline for admissions to all classes up to August 13 and is organizing a Special Admission Drive from July 5 to August 13.
A DIPR report stated that the department has directed school heads to contact parents/guardians of dropout students with the help of teachers, NGOs, student bodies and church leaders and encourage them to admit their children to appropriate classes and resume schooling.
It has also requested the cooperation and support of public leaders, NGOs, student bodies and church leaders in creating awareness among parents of dropout students and to assist them in getting the children admitted at the nearest Government schools.
