Re-inculcate Culture of Honesty: CPO President
Naga culture and tradition are unique and is slowly attracting attention from other peoples, according to Sovenyi, president of the Chakhesang Public Organization. He stated this during addressing a session of the 53rd general conference of the Phek Students’ Union this evening here at Phek village local ground as special guest. The Chakhesang are today lacking behind other tribes and need to retrospect and study the reasons that are responsible for apparently keeping the community backward.
According to the NGO leader, primary education has reached every village; colleges have sprung up in the district too, In this context, all students who are dedicated, disciplined and serious would triumph in whatever they do, he said. The need of the hour is hard work, to catch up with the rest of the world, Sovenyi said.
The CPO leader also said there is no word called ‘impossible’ to students who are honest and hard-working. Today the Naga people are 'polluting the honest culture of the past,' he asserted. “Students need to re-inculcate honesty, the culture passed on by forefathers to make a brighter future. In the wake of the fast progressing world, students need to have clear visions to be successful,” he said. He maintained that real progress is measured by the quality of a person and not by the infrastructure.
