Kohima, April 17 (MExN): Modern College organised its farewell programme, “Elegant Farewell 2026,” for outgoing B.A. 6th Semester students at the Indoor Stadium, Kohima on April 17.
The event began with the Chairperson formally opening the proceedings, followed by the college anthem, invocation and a special performance.
Speeches were delivered by senior and junior representatives. The outgoing students reflected on their academic journey and shared words of encouragement, while juniors expressed gratitude for the guidance and memories shared, and reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the values imparted to them.
Administrator of the college, John Besü, in his exhortation, highlighted the significance of the students’ journey from their first semester to graduation, noting that it had shaped their perspectives and growth. He said both major achievements and small moments contribute to one’s identity, and acknowledged the impact students have made on the institution.
He advised the students to remain grounded, uphold integrity, pursue lifelong learning and face challenges with courage. He also encouraged them to practise kindness, stay connected and represent the college with dignity.
The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the Lord’s Prayer.
The programme marked a significant occasion, celebrating achievements while ushering the students into a new phase of life.
