Kohima, November 8 (MExN): Modern Higher Secondary School, Kohima celebrated its literary and cultural day on November 8, with singer and songwriter Sentiein Kichu gracing the event as the guest artiste.
The event, held in the school auditorium, was also attended by musician Arenchenla Walling, the Nagaland Folkloric group from TAFMA, and independent gospel and conscious rap artist Sorido as special invitees, the school said.
A series of competitions formed the highlight of the day, showcasing the richness of Naga heritage. Students participated in events including war cry and folk song performances, while traditional skills were displayed through the cooking of ethnic cuisine, according to a statement.
The programme also featured poetry recitations of original compositions by students, alongside art and photography exhibitions. The event included prayers and speeches, followed by performances by the special invitees. It concluded with the distribution of citations and cash awards to the winners of the various competitions.
