Mokokchung, August 25 (MExN): In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY) in Mokokchung district, the officials of BJP, Mokokchung district held a coordination meeting with the ADS of Department of Food & Civil Supplies, Mokokchung N Jamonger Ao on August 24.
The PM-GKAY is a food security welfare scheme announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2020. It is a scheme as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat to supply free food grains to migrants and poor. During the period May-November 2021, more than 81.35 crore people will be benefited through this scheme, a press release from the BJP, Mokokchung District stated.
During the interaction, the BJP, Mokokchung District President Imolemba Jamir lauded the Department of F&CS for their work in reaching out to the people especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also observed that, as far as the distribution of food grains through the F&CS is concerned in Mokokchung, the distribution works are being carried out in an orderly manner with the active support of the village councils and the ward authorities. As such, he encouraged the Department of F&CS to continue with the good works and at the same time assured all help from the BJP, Mokokchung district in every possible way so as to benefit the people at the grass root.
The ADS of F&CS, Mokokchung, N Jamonger Ao, while expressing gratitude to the BJP, Mokokchung district for reaching out to the department, also briefed the party officials about the working system of the department in distributing the food grains through the different outlets.
Sr Inspector o F&CS, Mokokchung, Allen Imchen also shared about how the department was carrying out the PM-GKAY scheme in every part of the district so that every household is benefited through the central scheme, the release stated.
Meanwhile, the BJP, Mokokchung district has directed all the karyakartas in the different mandals to render every possible help to the officials of F&CS, the village councils, ward authorities and the beneficiaries so that the PM-GKAY scheme would benefit everyone in the society.
