Mokokchung DPDB discuses land issue, COVID-19 updates

Mokokchung, June 24 (MExN): The monthly meeting of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held under the chairmanship of Minister, Mechanical & Housing, Tongpang Ozukum on June 24. According to a DIPR report, on land issue at the present Power House located in Salangtem ward, Mokokchung town, the house discussed for ‘outright’ purchase of the land from the landowner for development and upgradation of the Power House. It resolved to write and approach the concern department and to take necessary steps.

CMO Mokokchung, Dr Chubala Aier highlighted on the updated COVID-19 reports and requirement for Mokokchung District Health facilities. She mentioned on the need to update Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the district starting from District COVID Hospital over which the house agreed to maintain two power generators in the hospital and to provide at least one oxymetre to every village.

The house resolved to deduct 10% amount from LADP fund and hand over the amount to COVID DTF for COVID expenses in the district. On report of shortfall of drivers at DCs office, the house agreed to approach the appropriate authority. On the issue of dismantling the present Law College, Mokokchung building and shifting it to an alternative location, it decided to complete the shifting at the earliest and complete the development of the new DCs office.

Issue relating to MMC dumping site was thoroughly discussed. The house agreed to upgrade and developed the site and to approach the land owners for the purchase of the land. The Chairman put a proposal for construction of Mokokchung Town ring road to bypass the main town as development activities are growing overnight and as a result, traffic concession has become a major problem. LADP proposal for 2021-22 was forwarded.
