Mokokchung, September 7 (DIPR): Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board meeting was held in the ADC (Planning) Conference hall on September 7. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel who is also the Vice Chairman, DPDB.
The Administrative and other officers who have so far adopted schools in the district shared their observations made in their respective schools before taking up the meeting agendas. The general observation was that the adopted schools have been working satisfactorily. The officers however suggested the need to strengthen the infrastructures in the schools, maintaining that some school buildings were poorly constructed requiring renovation at the earliest. The officers apprised of their efforts to contain school dropout, proper implementation of mid-day meal, proper maintenance of school toilets and supply of safe drinking water in the schools and further strengthening of teacher-parents-students relationship.
The adoption of at least one government school by administrative and other officers in the district was the initiative of the DC, Sushil Kumar Patel, as a mission to support the schools in every aspect and improve service delivery.
The house later took up discussions on agenda listed for the day. After deliberation the Board resolved to forward its decision for recognition of Baptist School, Longmisa, change of nomenclature of Greenwood Kinder Garden School, Alichen to Greenwood High School, Registration of Mokokchung Truck Driver’s Association and opening of a new primary school at Chuchuyimlang (Green Hills Academy).
Registration of Lala Welfare Society, Sungratsü Village, Registration of Mokokchung District Badminton Association and upgradation of Rajeshwari Karuna School, Tuli to Middle School were also approved and forwarded to the concerned department for necessary action.
