Mokokchung police looking for solution to traffic congestion

Mokokchung, September 7 (DIPR): Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of September 2011 was held on 7th, at Deputy Commissioners’ Conference Hall. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner also the Vice Chairman, Mokokchung DPDB Lithrongla G. Chishi.
Addressing the traffic problem in Mokokchung, Addl. SP, Mokokchung highlighted the reasons for traffic congestion with a power-point presentation in Town, saying that the problem arises due to the increasing number of vehicles and inadequate parking space. In this regard, SP Mokokchung Bendang Lemtur said that in a couple of weeks time, in conjunction with MMC traffic parking signs and relocation of parking specially for commercial vehicles would be implemented through which the traffic problem in the Town would be managed to a certain extent. While discussing the frequent blockage of Mokokchung-Mariani road, Deputy Commissioner, assured that the matter would be taken up during the next Deputy Commissioners Conference.
Earlier, the Board reviewed the minutes of the last meeting with the Chairman’s remark to send DPDB meeting minutes to all Officers in out-posts. Taking up the agenda of the meeting, the Board directed SDO(C) Ongpangkong to verify and submit the registration of Lions Club Longsa. It was also decided to carefully verify registration sought by various associations, societies and NGOs.
