Mokokchung records zero malaria cases since 2019

Mokokchung, June 30 (MExN): Mokokchung district has recorded zero malaria cases since 2019. This was stated in a press release issued by the Chief Medical Officers (CMO) office, Mokokchung on Wednesday.

As part of the anti-malaria month observed in Mokokchung district under the theme ‘reaching the zero malaria target’ from June 1 to 30, the CMO Mokokchung stated that no malaria cases were detected during the month-long screening and Mokokchung also recorded zero malaria cases since 2019. 

During the month-long programme which was led by Dr Tiasunep DVBO, District Consultant, MTS and ASHAs public were given awareness on waste management, prevention of water stagnation etc. Activities also included like interactive session, live demonstration, free malaria test and distribution of anti-malaria drugs were undertaken.

Sample villages were selected from Mangkolemba, Alongkima, Tsurangkong, Tuli and Changtongya Block for IEC activities like mobile IEC awareness on malaria, importance of LLIN usage, fever screening by ASHAs etc.
