Mokokchung, August 28 (MExN): Mokokchung district has achieved 75% coverage of COVID-19 vaccination. Disclosing this during the 2nd quarter district review meeting on August 26, CMO Mokokchung, Dr R Chubala Aier said, “We are still in the midst of pandemic, within a few weeks’ time if we put more effort, we will be able to achieve at least 90% coverage in vaccination in the district.” She called upon the attendees to concentrate on the number of unvaccinated and not only on the percentage of coverage.
A press note from the CMO office Mokokchung stated that Dr Aier highlighted on the importance of early testing and treatment, contract tracing and to do proper monitoring of health units within their jurisdiction. She also encouraged the attendees to work hard to fight this pandemic and to come up with new ideas and innovations adding to the success stories of the district.
During the meeting conducted by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Mokokchung at CMO Conference Hall, Dr Ayangla Saku, DPO (UIP & RCH) stressed on the importance of COVID vaccination and submission of proper micro planning. Dr Aonungdok, Dy CMO gave a power point presentation on the COVID-19 status of Mokokchung.
Angelina Jungi, surveillance coordinator, NISHTHA surveillance, JHPIEGO spoke on the importance of Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP). Limatenzuk, district Coordinator (AB-PMJAY) gave a presentation on the activities and beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat scheme. All the SMOs and MOs of CHCs and PHCs gave presentations on brief review of areas, monitoring areas, COVID -19 vaccination and testing, Community COVID-19 Care Centre status, VHND’s conducted and requirements.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Dr Aonungdok, Dy CMO, Mokokchung was attended by all Programme Officers, Medical Officers, DPMU staff and IEC personnel.
