The Nagaland Football Association (NFA) in a press conference held at Mokokchung, announced that Mokokchung District will host the 22nd edition of the 22nd Inter-District Football Tournament (Dr T Ao Trophy 2022)
NFA President, K Neibu Sekhose, stated that Mokokchung has been selected as the host keeping in mind that Dr T Ao is from Mokokchung while further adding that the citizens of Mokokchung have always loved the game and that they are football crazy.
“Mokokchung should take this opportunity as a privilege as well as a challenge,” he said, while also asserting that it will not be an easy task.
The Nagaland Football Association in the press conference also requested and encouraged all the new districts to affiliate themselves with the NFA so that they will also be able to participate in the running tournament.
The tournament is set to tentatively start from April 19 with 16 participating teams.
