Mokokchung-Tuensang NH road construction not as per DPR: DAPC

Tuensang, September 1 (MExN): The Developmental Action Plan Committee (DAPC) has alleged that the ongoing construction work on National Highway-202 from Mokokchung to Tuensang (0.000 kms-95.000kms) is not progressing as per the Detailed Project Report (DPR). 

The progress of the work is too slow and quality of workmanship is not satisfactory, pointed out DAPC in a complaint filed to Executive Director (P), National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) office, Kohima. 

The special repair works on aforesaid stretch has been going on for 7-8 months, stated the DAPC compliant appended by its Executive Chairman Setsa Chem and Executive Secretary Singkhum. In this connection, the DAPC appealed the Executive Director (P) to “investigate the work thoroughly and keep on hold any payments” until a satisfactory note is received from the Committee. 

Meanwhile, the DAPC also expressed its appreciation to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for keeping the assurance given to the Committee in August 2019 and bringing a positive outcome at the said NH stretch.
