The Youth Associations of Penli, Majakong, Lijaba Lijen, and Artang wards have informed that an indefinite total vehicular bandh would be imposed along the Dr Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) road from Police Point and the approach road to IMDH from Sewak gate starting December 2.Announcing this during a press conference at Majakong Community Hall, Mokokchung on Tuesday, the Associations stated that it had served an ultimatum to the higher authority through the Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner on November 24.
While a timeframe of six days was given for the authority to give a positive response, it was unanimously resolved that a blockade along the stretch would be imposed, due to the lack of response till date. Accordingly, the indefinite bandh would begin from December 2 (6:00am to 6:00pm) and only emergency cases would be exempted. The Association also stated that the matter of restoring the IMDH road is for the benefit of all people of Mokokchung, and thus urged citizens and organisations to support and join the cause.
