Dimapur, December 18 (MExN): The Mon DPDB held its pre Christmas celebration with Rev. T. Wan-O Pastor, Konyak Baptist Church Aboi on December 17. at ADC office Complex, Aboi.
The Speaker Rev. T. Wan-O in his message spoke about the purpose of coming of Jesus to this world and spread of His good news in the state and in the land of Konyaks. He said with the light of Jesus Christ men were free from the bondage of satan and Christ gave peace and love to mankind. Referring to “Nagaland for Christ” he said it is a proclamation of God and explained how the first America missionary declared the word Nagaland for Christ. Agreeing with Minister Nyeiwang, he said the people of Nagaland should thank and honour the love of Jesus Christ.
S. Hongpi Konyak, DPRO, Mon in the press statement stated that the Minister for School Education Nyeiwang Konyak in his Christmas Greeting said that through unity in Christ we are one family and Jesus is not born only in Bethlehem but everywhere in everyone’s heart. He urged upon to spread the good message of Christ to the non-Christians and feel proud to be a Christian.
He said the people of Nagaland has made a commitment to the Lord by proclaiming “Nagaland for Christ” and it is through this proclamation that the Nagas are reaping its fruits of living a peacefully lives without occurrence of natural catastrophe in the state. It is our responsibility to thank and remember the goodness of Christ and celebrate Christmas with peace and love, he added.
The Minister said he has less knowledge about the Holy Bible and Christian life in his early age because he was born in a non-Christian family. He also shared his experience about his visit to Bethlehem where Jesus was born.
Advisor DUDA & MLA E.E. Pangteang said “Our God is a living God” therefore, our true and humble prayer never goes in vain. He said although Christ is born in Israel but His mission is established in America and because of which America is blessed today. He also said that the word of God is to live with unity in peace and urged the gathering to spread the message of Jesus and His love.
The Deputy Commissioner, Mon Angau I Thou in her Christmas greetings said Christ came humbly to save the world from the bondage of sins. She called upon the gathering to celebrate Christmas with forgiveness, peace and love because Jesus is a Prince of peace.
The program started with Invocation by Pastor Dilip, Gorkha Baptist church, Aboi and cutting of the Christmas cake by Minister Nyeiwang followed by Special number by DPDB members and KNSK unit of Aboi. Bible reading was proposed by Pastor, Police Unit Church, Aboi town and benediction was pronounced by Pastor Ao Baptist Church, Aboi Town.
