New working system is introduced in hospital
Mon, May 17 (DIPR): The Mon District Planning & Development Board meeting for the month of May was held under the chairmanship of M.C. Konyak, Minister for Forest, Environment & Ecology, wildlife & Excise and Chairman DPDB, Mon, on May 16 at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Mon.
The Medicines Sans Frontiers (MSF) and the Civil Hospital, Mon gave a power point presentation about their activities, achievements and infrastructure development initiated since launching of the partnership between the MSF and the department of Health & Family Welfare for the management of the civil hospital, Mon on August 4, 2010. Besides other development achievements, the hospital is also providing free medicines, mosquitoes net, blankets, etc to the patients. Right after the meeting, the Board members also visited the District Hospital and inspected the achievement made by the joint venture of the MSF and Health & Family Welfare department. New working system is also introduced in the hospital and it is functioning systematically. The DWO, Mon also presented the activities of the Social Welfare department to the house.
The house had a lengthy discussion regarding admission problems faced by the students’ in class XI (Eleven). Finally the chairman directed the DEO, Mon to inspect the Higher Secondary Schools in the district for any possible extension of the classrooms to accommodate poor students who could not study outside the district. It is reported that around 300 poor students are still not admitted due to limited seats in the existing both Government and Private Higher Secondary Schools in the district. The Board also recommended the following agenda submitted by the Chairman M.C. Konyak: Up gradation of Ayo Memorial School Naginimora to class – X; Up gradation of Zero Point road via Tamlu to state High Way; Up gradation of Wakching to Aboi Road via Chingtang and Chinglong to state High Way and Water Supply connection to Wakching area.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed those 17 departments who have not submitted their departmental profile to submit within 7 days period. Minister for School Education and SCERT, Nyeiwang Konyak also attended the meeting. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by DC, Mon.
