
Mopungchuket Ait Laishir Telongjem: The Mopungchuket Ait Laishir Telongjem (MALT) expressed its earnest admiration to Rev. Dr. Wati Aier, Principal of Oriental Theological Seminary, Dimapur and the Convener of Forum for Naga Reconciliation on his being awarded the 2011 Baptist World Alliance (BWA) Denton and Janice Lotz Human Rights Award at the General Council of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from July 4-9. “His unwavering commitment to Naga reconciliation, unity and peace is inspiration to all. The leadership he has shown is exemplary. We the members of the later generations have been listening to his words, observing his methods and learning a lot,” stated a press note issued by Yangertemsü, Convener, MALT Steering Committee, Mopungchuket.
The MALT stated that the entire Baptist world and the Naga nation know him as a selfless God fearing social worker, a dedicated teacher and a great reformer. “The land has witnessed how the FNR under his spirited leadership have elbowed their way through all odds to usher in Naga Reconciliation: A Journey of Common Hope. He really has been the beacon light for all those who want to follow the path of peace, unity and reconciliation,” stated the press note.
“The Baptist World Alliance (BWA) Denton and Janice Lotz Human Rights Award is a note taken by the society of his earnest efforts for the betterment of Naga society and all humanity at large. We hope the Naga political groups too do something worthwhile taking inspiration from his work and pray that the signatories of the Covenant of Reconciliation remain committed to the call to reconciliation. We look forward to witness a reconciled Naga nation in the coming future,” it stated.

A congratulatory note issued by Savi Liegise, president and Ntsemo Ngullie, general secretary of the Naga Council stated that FNR under the leadership of Dr.Wati Aier has worked extremely hard to bring together to sign the Covenant of Reconciliation, a task hitherto considered impossible. Through its tireless campaign for peace and reconciliation since formation in 2008, factional killings and bloodshed beyond factions indeed had come to a virtual halt.
