Dimapur, July 4 (MExN): More organisation and individual have mourned the untimely demise of Toshi Wungtung, advisor IPR, SCERT& Village Guards, Government of Nagaland on July 1.
YWO: The Yimchunger Women Organization (YWO) in a condolence message said that late Wungtung was “was the pride of the Yimchunger Tribe.”
“A wise and a patriotic leader, he was the backbone of the Yimchungers and Nagas in general,” YWO vice president Kaisa Akiu stated in a condolence message.
In his demise, we mourn the loss of a great leader of this generation. Nothing can fill the vacuum he has created in our nation. He was one of the strong supporters of the organisation and we will forever be indebted to him, YWO stated.
Further, YWO conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for God’s peace and comfort in this time of untold heartache and grief.
Hayithung Lotha: The former National People’s MP candidate Hayithung Bill Lotha said in a message that his association with late Wungtung goes back to 1996 when the former was a beginner in "community activities."
Since then, I got privilege to occasionally come across him both in private as well as public life, he said, adding that with constant interaction he “truly admire” late Wungtung’s sterling capacity, and knowledge and insights.
“His concern and love for the cause of the Eastern Naga’s was magnanimous and beyond measure of words,” Lotha said.
“Nagas as a Human Race and Nationality” has forever lost a “Great Soul”, a “Common Man’s People’s Champion” and “beacon of hope and bridge within our Naga tribes, he added.
“Such a personality is born once in a century and a ‘colossal lose’ which will be highly difficult to fill the void.”
