More Organisations condemn suspected murder of Nagaland Cop

Dimapur, September 16 (MExN): More organizations have condemned the alleged killing of Lt Neiphretuo Metsie-o, Inspector 5th NAP C’ Coy of Chiechama Village between Lasumi and Zapami Village under Zuketsa Circle, Pfutsero Sub-Division.  

Angami Gazetted Officers Krotho: The Angami Gazetted Officers Krotho has condemned the killing of one of its members from NAGOK Unit, Lt Neiphretuo Metsei-o. A condemnation note from its President Dr Kedozeto Punyü and General Secretary Megolhou Dolie said “We strongly condemn the act of carrying out the alleged murder of a promising police officer in the prime of his life,” the organization added. The organization also offered condolence to his beloved wife and children further expressing solidarity to his native village Chiechama and the law enforcing agencies.

Kohima Village Council: The Kohima Village Council has condemned the act in the strongest of terms. “The Government and the Society must ensure that these kinds of crime do not recur in the future,” Chairman Dr Neiphi Kire and Secretary Zeneizo Rutsa expressed in a condemnation note. “At this critical juncture the KVC stands in solidarity with the bereaved family members of Late Neiphretuo Metsie-o. It is our prayer that the good Lord will grant peace, comfort and may his soul rest in peace,” the Council also expressed.  

Lower Phaibung Village: The Lower Phaibung Village Authority, Senapati, Manipur noted that “the suspected murderers stopped in the village for some hours enroute to Ukhrul district on the night of September 7 in a white Mahindra Scorpio due to a punctured tyre and refueling at a BIPL work camp” “The news of the missing report and searched team reached our village only on September 14, thus the information communicated between our youths and the search team ultimately led to the identification of the culprit with the stolen Scorpio, a release from its Chairman S.P. Jonah and Secretary P Thaongao stated. The village authority further extended fullest cooperation to the concern authority relating to this case in all necessary matters. The authority also appealed the law enforcing agency to arrest the culprits at the earliest.

Mao Hoho Nagaland: The Mao Hoho Nagaland while condemning the suspected murder of Lt Neiphretuo Metsie-o lamented that “a young officer and beloved father of four was snatched away at his prime age.” “We demand the law enforcing agencies to book the accused culprits immediately and award befitting punishments as per the law,” a condemnation issued by its President Dili Solomon and General Secretary S Hepuni John stated.  

Mao Hoho Dimapur: The Mao Hoho Dimapur in a condemnation note has demanded that all effort be taken by state investigation agencies to arrest and bring to justice such criminal elements. The MHD also extended condolences and sympathy to the grieving family and pray that our God of all comfort and justice, give strength and consolation at this moment of loss and pain.  

Mao Union Kohima: Mao Union Kohima(MUK) stated that such crime is intolerable and deserved highest degree of punishment. The MUK, in a release from its President L Athikho Leriite conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and pray that the almighty God grant solace and comfort.  

Naga Mothers Association: The Naga Mothers Association (NMA) said “As mothers, we grieve the loss of a son who has left behind grief stricken families, his wife and children. We convey our deepest condolences to his wife and children and pray that God gives them the strength to bear the great loss and grant him eternal rest and peace.” President Abeiu Meru and General Secretary Lochumbeni Humtsoe in a press note seek the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.  

National People’s Party: The National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland State Unit in a press note from the party stated that “such an act should not be tolerated in any civilized society so that peace and harmony prevails which is the need of the hour.” The party further urged “the law enforcing agency to leave no stone unturned in probing the murder, so that the culprits are apprehended at the earliest and accorded a befitting punishment. “ The Party also expressed condolences to the bereaved wife, children and family members.  

Northern Angami Public Organisation: The Northern Angami Public Organisation has condemned the alleged murder of its member. “The willful act of these perpetrators has no place in the society and anyone trying to shelter or abet the suspected murderers shall be held equally responsible for all the consequences,” Northern Angami Public Organisation Secretary Helievio Solo in a condemnation note stated. The organization also appealed the government to immediately arrest the perpetrators and give befitting punishment to all the culprits. It also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family.  

Poumai Hoho Nagaland: Poumai Hoho Nagaland (PHN) in a condemnation note from its President PH Shesou urged the concern authority to book the culprits and bring justice at the earliest as per the law of the land. The Hoho conveyed deepest condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed that Almighty God comfort the family and pray that the departed soul may rest in peace.  

Sumi Aphuyemi Hoho: The Sumi Aphuyemi Hoho said “No one should try to shield the culprits but the law enforcing agency must award befitting punishment on fast track so that this kind of incident never committed in future,” a release note from its President Inavi Swu and Secretary, Information & Publicity K. A. Jacob condemned. The Hoho conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed to the almighty to grant solace to the family members.  

Tangkhul Longphang zonal bodies: The four Tangkhul Longphang (North, East, West and South) zonal bodies, comprising of all villages in Tangkhul region in a condemnation note from its Chairmen expressed "It is our sincere and steadfast assurance that we are standing by the family in this hour of pain and tragedy. We have also alerted every village under the four corners of our jurisdiction to act and inform us, as and when the culprits are identified. "With heartfelt remorse, we once again convey our commiserations and call upon the Almighty to bestow his divine strength, solace and wisdom upon the bereaved family," the note stated.  

Tangkhul Civil Society: The Tangkhul Civil Society in its meeting on September 15 has appealed the concerned authority to book the perpetrators at the earliest. A condemnation note appended by the Presidents of Tangkhul Naga Long, Tangkhul Shanao Long (Women’s League), Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (Students’ Union), Tankghul Mayar Ngala Long (Youth Council) and Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long (Chief Association) also appealed every Tangkhul to extend all possible help in arresting the perpetrators. Conveying condolence to the family members and loved ones of Lt Neiphretuo, the note said “we send our humble solidarity, our prayers are with you.”  

Tangkhul Baptist Churches Association: The Tangkhul Baptist Churches Association (TBCA) prayed for justice and appealed concerned authority to book the perpetrators and bring justice at the earliest. TBCA Executive Secretary Rev Dr Mathotmi Vasha, in a condemnation note further appealed the Tangkhul public to give any possible and necessary help to the concerned authority in this relation. The TBCA also conveyed deep condolence to the bereaved family of Lt Neiphretuo.  

Tangkhul Baptist Association, Nagaland: “Words run short to express how shocked to learn that a respectably placed guardian of the law, Neiphretuo Metsie-o was found allegedly murdered between Lasumi and Zapami,” a condemnation issued by Tangkhul Baptist Association, Nagaland Secretary Rev. Rozarim Woleng stated. “The Tangkhul Baptist Association, Nagaland with shock, shame and anger strongly condemn such a crime, whoever the perpetrator may be,” it added.  

Tangkhul Union Kohima: The Tangkhul Union Kohima in an emergency meeting on September 16 unanimously constituted four officials delegation to be sent to Ukhrul district to apprise the apex Tangkhul organizations to extend all possible supports to arrest the culprits at the earliest possible, a release from its Secretary Mashasho Leisan and Vice President James Luiram stated.  

Tenyimi Peoples' Organisation: The Tenyimi Peoples' Organisation (TPO) has expressed shock and lamented at “how, in our society, a man can be murdered without any conscience, especially, when the man was so kind and generous to take strangers on the journey.” The TPO, in a press note from its President Timikha Koza and General Secretary Vipopal Kintso has appealed “to all the people, in whatever capacity, to help in apprehending the murderers to allow befitting action taken against them so that we remove such evils from our society.” “We pray to god almighty to grant solace and strength to overcome this great loss and pain,” the note added.  

Western Chakhesang Hoho: The Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) in a condemnation note from its President Dietho Rhakho Press Secretary, the Hoho urged the law enforcing agencies to take all measures necessary in bringing the culprits to book at the earliest. The WCH further extended its sincere condolence as “we share the pain and grief of the bereaved family members in their difficult moment.”
