Most of recently notified Sub Centres and upgraded Primary Health Centres and Community Health Centres under the Department of Health and Family Welfare are not functional due to resource constraints.


This was stated in the Annual Administrative Report 2019-20 of the Department of Health & Family Welfare tabled by H&FW Minister S. Pangnyu Phom on the floor of the House.


The report stated that the department is taking active consideration for development of infrastructures and creation of post for the newly created medical units.


“The staffs of doctor, nurse and para medic are in place against the functional medical units according to the availability of post creations,” the report stated.


Since the inception of the department in 1965, government has notified 383 SCs, 143 PHCs, 33 CHCs, 1 SHC, 2 big dispensaries in the rural areas and 11 District Hospitals, 2 TB and Chest Diseases Hospitals, one state Mental Health Institute in the urban areas.


The report stated that Nagaland will have a medical college very soon for which construction is going on full swing with an amount of Rs. 189.00 lakhs from Government of India.

 

Nagaland has 4,36,000 MGNREGA job card holders 


Rural Development Minister Metsubo Jamir today told the assembly session here that there are 4,36,000 job card holders under MGNREGA in Nagaland as of January 2020. Replying this to MLA Dr Imtiwapang Aier, the Minister said that since 2018-19 onwards, all MGNREGA payments are done online through NREGA- soft eFMS only. As such, there is no block wise cash money transaction, the Minister added.
