Speaking on this year’s World MSME Day theme, “Human-Centered Entrepreneurship in an AI-Driven Future: Economic Empowerment for the Next Generation of MSMEs,” Kvulo Lorin, Chairman, NIDC said, “It resonates deeply with the work we are doing across the state.”

“Whether we are developing new physical infrastructure, expanding institutional capacities, or scaling local businesses, the goal is always the same: integrating modern, technically advanced solutions while keeping the human element at the core of our growth,” Lorin said at the event organised by Department of Industries & Commerce in association with Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Limited (NIDC) on June 26.

Asserting that MSMEs are the engines of daily lives in Nagaland, he maintained that they are where innovation happens on the ground and create jobs, sustain local industries, and are absolutely critical to the sustainable development of the state.

To accelerate this, he also spoke about the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme—a World Bank-supported initiative of the Ministry of MSME—that was launched in Nagaland in 2024, focused on upgrading enterprise capabilities, expanding market access, unlocking financial resources, and driving scalable, sustainable growth.

In this regard, he stated that 49,000 MSMEs have directly benefited from the RAMP initiative while more than 35,000 entrepreneurs have been trained and 30,000 women entrepreneurs have received targeted support.

Besides conducting 882 focused workshops and awareness programmes, he also highlighted that its outreach is comprehensive, touching all 16 districts, 55 subdivisions, and 63 RD Blocks. However, beyond the numbers, he affirmed that, “the true strength of RAMP Nagaland has been its commitment to inclusive growth.”

In this connection, he added that, “We are making sure that women entrepreneurs, persons with disabilities, and the youth in our most remote districts have a seat at the table and access to real opportunities.” Stating that this level of impact doesn’t happen in a silo, he affirmed that it is the result of strong, strategic partnerships wherein collaborations with institutions like NSRLM, WENN, NIELIT, NTTC, and NBDA have been vital in connecting entrepreneurs with the skills, technical registration services, and market avenues they need to compete.

On World MSME Day, he urged the gathering to reaffirm their commitment to building a vibrant, resilient, and globally competitive MSME sector. “Together, through strategic collaboration and hard work, we can generate greater employment, build a prosperous Nagaland, and actively drive the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047”, he stated.
