Dimapur, October 17 (DIPR): The Mon Town Students’ Union (MTSU) organized a painting competition on October 15, on the theme ‘eco green scenery’ and quiz competition, where 12 high schools of Mon Town participated in both the competition. The competition was organized with the aim to mould and dig out the hidden talent/ gift in a student.
Loren, President MTSU while delivering the welcome speech said that the programme was organized mainly to give platform to the talented and gifted students to expose their hidden talent. He also informed the gathering students that the MTSU would be organizing co-curricular activities for the schools within Mon Town, in the days to come. In this regard, he appealed to all the head masters/teacher incharge and the student community to extend their cooperation.
Meanwhile, Tonlong Wangnao, SDO (CAWD) Hq. Mon, who graced the occasion as the chief guest encouraged the students gathered to work hard and give their best in their studies. He also advised the students to participate and take chances in every given opportunity in order to expose themselves and at the same time learnt, as they are the back bone of the society.
In quiz competition, Pranshu Shandilya and Pratibha Rawat from Christ King School, Maopha and Kelvin from Konjong School were awarded the first and second prizes respectively. And in painting competition, Lanwang of Eastern School was awarded the first prize and Wanmei of Holy Cross was awarded the second prize.
