Multi-specialty NMHRC opens OPD service

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 7 (MExN): The medical sector in Nagaland is certainly showing positive growth. On Wednesday, September 7, a multi-specialty medical unit - Nagaland Multi-Specialty Health & Research Centre (NMHRC) - opened its services to the public in Dimapur. NMHRC, conveniently located at Midland (opposite Forests Colony) is the brainchild of a young group of medical specialists, who assures to provide high quality and affordable medical care.
“It has been our vision of providing and catering the best medical care under one roof, where all facilities equipped with the latest medical machineries is installed for the welfare of the patients, and we thank God and well wishers, for bringing it to reality today,” stated a press handout from the managing director of NMHRC during a dedication programme held today. A lot of time, energy and money are spent by patients seeking better medical facilities outside the state. “And therefore to ease the trouble, we have arranged the facilities of providing the best medical care at your doorstep for the people and also by roping in super-specialist from outside our state for consultation.”  
For the time being, only the ‘out patient department’ is in operation as construction of other units of the hospital is yet to complete. It is expected to go fully functional by 2012. When finished, it will be a 20-bedded hospital complete with intensive care units and four operation theatres. The OPD will be open by 7:30 am, Monday through Saturday.
Starting today, services available include X-Ray, ECG, pathological laboratory, ultrasound, endoscopy & echocardiogram. Doctors from outside the state, specializing in cardiology, orthopaedic surgery, burn plastic & cosmetic surgery, paediatric neurology and paediatric gastroenterology, pulmonology, cardio thoracic & vascular surgery and ophthalmology will be available for consultation, for which the patients have to make prior appointment.
