NAAABAT meet held in Bengaluru, focuses on remodelling church ministry

Bengaluru, March 10 (MExN): The fifth fellowship meet of the Ao Baptist Churches Outside Nagaland Fellowship (NAAABAT) was held from March 6 to 8 at the South Asia Institute of Advanced Christian Studies (SAIACS) in Bengaluru, hosted by the Bengaluru Ao Baptist Fellowship (BABF).

Altogether 35 members from five Ao Baptist churches outside Nagaland attended the gathering, each represented by their respective pastors. The participating churches included Ao Baptist Arogo Shillong, Ao Baptist Church Guwahati, Bengaluru Ao Baptist Fellowship, Delhi Ao Baptist Church and Jorhat Ao Baptist Arogo.

The meet was held under the theme “Remodelling Ministry of the Church”, with several seminar sessions presented and discussed in depth.

The topic “Remodelling Ministry Towards the In-Laws” was presented by Imkongmeren Imchen, associate pastor of Delhi Ao Baptist Church. This was followed by “Remodelling Family Ministry in the Church”, presented by Lanuwapang Imchen, deacon of Ao Baptist Arogo Shillong, and “Remodelling Youth Ministry in the Church” by Toshirenba, deacon of Ao Baptist Church Guwahati. The sessions generated detailed discussions among participants.

Participants also reflected on the ministerial challenges faced by churches serving in urban contexts and deliberated on the future direction of Ao Baptist churches outside Nagaland. During the gathering, the life and contributions of late Alemrenba, former pastor of Delhi Ao Baptist Church, were remembered with gratitude.

The Sunday devotional service was led by Mrs C Obanglemla of Delhi Ao Baptist Church, while Ao students in Bengaluru led the praise and worship. Marking International Women’s Day, a special prayer for women was offered by Meyu Changkiri, pastor of Ao Baptist Arogo Shillong.

The exhortation was delivered by Aowabang Ozüküm, pastor of Ao Baptist Church Guwahati, while the message on the theme “Remodelling Church Ministry” was shared by Imli P. Lemtur, pastor of Jorhat Ao Baptist Arogo. Special songs were presented by the women of Bengaluru, the NAAABAT group and the Male Voice of Bengaluru.
