Kohima, December 11 (MExN): A Rural Haat sponsored by NABARD Nagaland Regional Office was inaugurated by Mhomo Tungoe, SDO (C) of Sechü-Zubza Block, at Dzüleke Village on December 10, to support rural people to market their products effectively.
NABARD in a press release stated that speaking on the occasion, Mhomo encouraged the villagers to build upon the advantage of scenic beauty of the place by focusing on cultural tourism, eco-tourism and adventure tourism, in order to attract more tourists and visitors.
During the inaugural programme, Poji, District Development Manager, NABARD lauded the Dzüleke Village Council for successfully implementing the project and impressed upon the villagers to utilise the haat productively, which will bring benefits to the marketing efforts of Dzüleke Village as one of the favourite tourist spots in the state.
In his speech, Rutho Nyuwi, Project Associate, NEIDA highlighted how the various initiatives undertaken by their agency for promotion of eco-tourism has brought higher inflow of tourists over the years and expressed his hope for more visitors in future through various developmental support from different agencies.
