NAFO strengthens ban on logging vehicles

Dimapur: The Nsong Area Frontal Organisation (NAFO) has extended support to Deputy Commissioner Peren and DPDB for the ban on all the logging vehicles under Peren district during the rainy season, effecting from May 1 till October 31. The ban has been imposed in order to prevent further damage of the existing PWD road for the safety and convenience of all walk of life in the area.

NAFO, general secretary, Levi Pame in a press release said, the organisation felt that it is very much deemed to be maintained and comply with this order for the welfare of public in the district that every log contractors under Peren district is requested to co-operate till necessary further order is lifted.

The Organisation inform and appeal to all the log contractors and businessman that the existing bridge at Maguiki river is fallen weak and the foundation wall is also crack down due to the flood during the rainy season and it has become risky to all of us in the area.

NAFO strictly prohibit and ban all the logging trucks and heavy load trucks that violation of this order shall be impose with Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) per truck by the Organisation and youth enforcement shall be conducted in the area.
