Dimapur, September 9 (MExN): Atoho Jakhalu was awarded a grant by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (Federal Department of Foreign Affairs) to present his research work at the XIIIth European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE) Congress 2011, Zurich, Switzerland (August 30 to September 2).
He is currently doing a Ph. D programme as a DAAD Scholar working on the ‘Megacity Project’ at Humboldt University-Berlin, Germany. The Nobel Laureate Elinor Ostrom is on the Scientific Advisory Board of the project. The ‘Megacity Project’ is funded and supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Back in 2005, he completed an M. Phil Degree at Cambridge University (United Kingdom) with a grant awarded by The Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and subsequently conferred to the status of Fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Society.
He is the son of Lieutenant Colonel SI Jakhalu and Mrs. Kakheli Jakhalu.
