Naga Chilli & Pork Eating Contests at Hornbill Festival

Dimapur, December 2(MExN): Dr. Tolto Metha, Event Coordinator, XL, Nagaland, in a press statement stated that the much awaited Naga Chilli and Pork Eating Contests will be held at the Hornbill Festival on the December 4, 2011, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM, in the Heritage Village, Kisama. Till date, over 70 persons have signed up to participate in these more-than-usual events. The First Prize in both the events will be Rs. 15,000/-, with a Second Prize of Rs.10,000/- and a Third Prize of Rs.5000/-.
A special category has also been made for the Tourists, who can register on the spot at 11:00 am on December 4 and take part in the contests, where the winners will take away some exciting prizes. These have been organized with the sole objective of promoting the Naga Chilli, which has already received rave reviews around the globe for its amazing Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) and the indigenous sport, the “Pork Eating Contest”.
These events have been managed by XL, Nagaland under the aegis of the Tourism Department, Government of Nagaland.
