Kohima, January 19 (MExN): The Naga Club has expressed shock to learn about the death of one of its Advisors, Dr S Imkong Tushi Ao at the Zion Hospital, Dimapur on January 16.
In the renaissance of the Naga Club before the Centennial Jubilee on November 29, 2018, late Dr Tushi was “unyieldingly active to accomplish the enormous task from 2017 till its regularisation on 14th November 2018 with the 5th Team of Naga Club,” stated a condolence message issued by the Naga Club, Kuolachalie Seyie.
He was then inducted as one of the Advisors and reappointed for the second term to the same post in the tenure 2021-2024 as the 6th Team, it said, calling him pillar of the Naga Club family and the Naga community as a whole.
By his profession as a physician during the active service in the Nagaland State Government and beyond in various capacities, and then even as a senior citizen, he was one whose life touched so many people, it said.
Late Dr Tushi was also Vice Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland (IRCSN) and the President of the Senior Citizens’ Association Nagaland (SCAN) for two terms.
Throughout all the years, he stridently and articulately advocated deep concern on the Indo-Naga relationship, the Club said.
In the demise of Dr Tushi, a knowledgeable, tranquil and unsullied soul, a vacuum has been created in the Naga society enormously difficult to be filled, it noted.
“We convey our utmost and heartfelt condolences to each member of the family. We also want each of you in the bereavement to know that we are with you in prayer and share your sorrow at this hour of grief,” it added
