Dimapur, Oct 1 (MExN): The recent public initiatives being undertaken by the Naga Council Dimapur, are eliciting appreciation and for this the public is encouraged to render full co-operation to the council.
“The Council is well-maintaining the Naga Cemetery at Dimapur Town and New Naga Cemetery at Zani village. Improvement works of road towards New Naga Cemetery is going on through their initiative besides maintaining Naga cemeteries, parks they also relieve public (by) checking unauthorized taxes and check exorbitant market price for poor public” says Gaon Bura (GB) Khonbi Jemu of the Rengma Community at Purana Bazar.
The GB pointed that apart from the above mentioned, the Council also assists the district administration for maintenance of law and order in the town and act as advisory body in all matters concerning public importance. Through this, public harmony between all communities is maintained, the GB observed.
