Naga CraftScape inaugurated at Kisama

Kisama, December 1 (MExN): The Naga CraftScape at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, Kohima was inaugurated on December 1 by Commissioner and Secretary, Tourism, Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi, IAS. The initiative is organized by Tribal Weave Nagaland in collaboration with Nagaland Tourism and the Department of Art and Culture.

During his visit, Dr. Chusi interacted with Naga artisans who are demonstrating live craft practices at the venue. He conveyed his appreciation for their work and encouraged them to ensure that traditional skills are transferred to younger generations.

The live demonstrations feature Chang cotton spinning, Konyak gunsmithing, Phom earthen pottery, Khiamniungan nettle weaving, Pochury Awathru (wind chime), Chang Kongkin (Jew’s harp), Khiamniungan basketry, Konyak ornaments, and Chang wood carving.

Dr. Chusi was accompanied by Director, Tourism, Veyielo Doulo, along with officials from the Tourism Department.
