Credibility of Minister questioned
Dimapur, April 24 (MExN): The Naga Hoho today said that the “allegations after allegations” and ever increasing agitations from various sections of Nagaland against government establishments reflect the truth that the system is deeply corrupted. Referring to the tainted Education department, the Naga Hoho today questioned the credibility of the Education minister and has also demanded that all “erring” officials both present and past should be exposed to the public.
The Naga Hoho issued a statement today demanding that all past and current officials in the Education department be exposed for the future generations.
“The ever increasing agitations and allegations from various stratums against the activities and functioning in the education department speaks volumes of malpractices and irregularities that has been deep rooted since the past many years and for which all erring officials both present and the past should be exposed to the people in order to safeguard our future generation,” stated Naga Hoho vice president Inaka Assumi and general secretary P Chuba Ozukum in the statement.
“The Naga Hoho can not overlook various anomalies and allegations after allegation under the school Education department since the last few years…and whereas, Education department which comprises of the most disciplined people in the society is supposed to be the most untainted department as it deals with the human resource development.”
Naga Hoho Speaker HK Zhimomi and his colleagues visited the agitating Aggrieved Teachers’ Association of Nagaland, the apex tribal organization said.
“The Naga Hoho questions the credibility of Minister In-charge as to why he should toy with many precious lives and human sentiments. It’s high time a move has to be made to identify genuine demand which is negotiable by addressing the issues with sincerity and seriousness,” the organization said.
A most important department like School Education should be manned by a man of integrity “with sound mind and high academic qualification,” the Naga Hoho said. The Nagaland Cabinet should also be firm in deciding the issues without further procrastination, it added.
