Simultaneously appeals to accept three-month salary and discharge duties
DIMAPUR, MAY 5 (MExN): The Naga Hoho, while extending its solidarity to agitating SSA teachers in Nagaland, has appealed for the latter to “accept the three months salary and kindly discharge their duties.” It further appealed for the concerned authority to “pursue the Government of India for the same in advance, so as to avoid additional chaos in future.”
It called upon the concerned authority to comply with the “legitimate demands” of the aggrieved teachers and stated “The nuisance and hardships that members of NSSATA are going through at this period is felt by all of us, not forgetting the students who have to bear the brunt of this ugly episode.” It added that the needs of the students should not be compromised.
The Naga Hoho expressed resentment over the plight of the teachers and at the delaying of release of legitimate dues to the teachers. While acknowledging that the SSA is a central flagship scheme, the Naga Hoho however stated, “We have all read time and again that the amount has been deposited and clearance has been obtained from the concerned department for disbursement of the same.”
The Naha Hoho expressed hoped that both parties would work to achieve an “end to this chapter and hammer out a conducive atmosphere so as to function smoothly as in the past for the department/teachers and for the larger interest of the student community.”
